For decades, digging up a sewer line was really the only option available for a sewer plumbing repair. However, with more modern technology, plumbers can now complete repairs underground without causing a major disruption and mess.
Want to take advantage of this convenience? Maccarone Plumbing uses the latest in trenchless technology to make sure your sewer line problems are solved as quickly and seamlessly as possible. We serve residential and commercial properties around Long Island and Five Boroughs.
What’s the Trenchless Advantage?
The beauty of trenchless sewer repair is that it allows a sewer line to be restored without having to go through the hassle of digging up the old line, destroying property to gain access, and then leaving a big landscape scar where the work was performed. Trenchless sewer repair greatly reduces the overall project cost for a homeowner or property manager.
How Does It Work?
Depending on the damage found, our technician will recommend either a pipe lining or a full pipe replacement.
Pipe lining: An epoxy is applied inside a line to create a new inner surface. This uses the existing pipe as an outer shell and blocks out the areas where leaks or roots have created leaks. When the hardener is applied to the epoxy, the inner lining is finished and functional.
Full pipe replacement: With a full pipe replacement, the existing pipe is routed and shattered by a driver forced through the pipe. At the same time, the router spreads the old pipe pieces outward so a new pipeline can be pulled through right behind. By “sleeving” the new line through following the router, a new pipe placement is essentially installed underground without any major digging involved.
Do You Need Trenchless Sewer Repair?
Sewer line repairs are often signaled by growing failures of the existing line to get rid of waste material. This can be realized with clogging and back-up, leakage in the surrounding soil, or putrid odors emanating from the soil where the line is buried underneath.
Not every situation allows for a trenchless sewer repair. When you contact us with a sewer line problem, we will first evaluate the exact issue within the existing line. This is determined by running a camera down the length of the line to see its condition.
Particular items our team will look for:
- Root systems penetrating the line
- Collapse or near collapse of a line
These issues call for trenchless sewer repair. This is why it is critical for a trained technician to first evaluation the given situation and camera feed before any major work is attempted.
Keep in Mind…
Trenchless sewer line repair is not the sort of work that can be done as a do-it-yourself project, and attempts to do so will often create more of a problem than a fix.
When the repair conditions are called for and a trained team has the right access underground, a trenchless method is ideal. It will considerably reduce the cost of a sewer line repair, compared with the traditional approach involving digging.
